1. Glorious St Anthony, you who were born under the protection of Mary, and who consecrated to her from the age of five, the lily of your virginity; you who put the demon to flight by the Sign of the Cross, obtain for us a tender devotion to our Blessed Mother, and the strength to triumph over all the attacks of our infernal enemy.

Recite one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

Recite one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

5. Glorious Saint, you, who chosen by God to preach His Word, received from Him the gift of tongues, and the power of working the most wonderful miracles, obtain for us the grace to listen willingly and with fruit to the Divine Word.

Recite one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

8. Glorious Saint, you who, on the refusal of men to come and hear the Word of God, called together the fishes of the sea and preached to them, obtain for us perfect submission of our minds and hearts to the Divine Truths.

Recite one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

9. Glorious Saint, you who, as protector of the innocent, made a babe speak to save the honour of its mother, obtain for us the grace of being strong in the midst of the persecutions of the world and to preserve intact the purity of our soul.

Recite one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

10. Glorious Saint, who, while preaching at Padua, showed yourself at the same time at Lisbon by a marvelous miracle, for the purpose of saving your father from calumny and death, obtain for us, that we may pardon all injuries from the bottom of our hearts, and love our enemies.

THREE PRAYERS TO JESUS IN THE ARMS OF ST ANTHONY, IN ANY AFFLICTION OR ANXIETY

O LOVING Jesus, source of grace and mercy I cast myself at Thy feet, and I implore Thee, through the love which St Anthony bore Thee, and through the compassionate Heart with which in Thy bitter agony Thou didst look down upon Thy mother from the cross and commend her to the care of St John, to look upon me, a poor sinner, with eyes of Thy boundless mercy. Come, as my loving Father and God, to my assistance in my great need and anxiety. In Thee do I trust, in Thee do I hope. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

O good Jesus, loving Redeemer and Sanctifier! I cast myself at Thy feet, and I implore Thee through the love which St Anthony bore Thee, and through Thy precious blood shed for us, to turn Thy compassionate and fatherly eyes upon me, a poor sinner whom Thou didst free, on the cross, from the chains of the enemy. Comfort me in my anxiety and affliction, for in Thee alone do I place all my confidence and my hope. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.

O loving Jesus, sure and sole refuge of my needy soul! I cast myself at Thy feet, and I implore Thee through the love which St Anthony bore Thee, and through Thy love for him which induced Thee to come to him in the form of a little child and to comfort and caress him. I implore Thee to come to me in my great need and affliction, that I may know how precious is Thy presence in a soul that hopes in Thee.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory.
